 About Lori Rubeling
and Rubeling & Kain Studios

Rubeling & Kain Studios is located in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

For the past four years Lori has been applying her art and architecture interests designing and manufacturing sculptural toys, creating site-specific sculpture and developing her architecture concepts.

Lori Rubeling teaches Visual Communication Design at Villa Julie College, Stevenson, MD. She graduated from the Corcoran School of Art in 1983 and in 1984-85 studied Architecture with Daniel Libeskind, at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. The 1984-85 Cranbrook Architecture Studio was awarded the Stone Lion prize for their Palmanova Project entry in the 1985 Venice Biennale.

Since 1986, Lori has exhibited in Baltimore, Washington and Detroit. Winning a 1993 Art-On-The-Move sculptural commission from the City of Detroit.

 The 100 Square Foot House exhibit, curater: Gary Kachadourian, Visual Arts coordinator for MACAC, The City of Baltimore's, Mayor's Advisory Committee for Art and Culture.

Rubeling & Kain Studios' architectural solution to the "100 Square Foot House" exhibit remains on site through the month of September. The Untitled (compass) house will be open for tours by the artists on Thursdays during the month of September. Call or email for more information.
